Cataract

Cataract refers to the clouding of the normally transparent lens of the eye, the most common symptom of which is gradual vision deterioration and fading color perception. This inevitable condition with advancing age is generally a slow, painless process. Cataract treatment usually occurs after it has caused symptoms, but at that point it is best not to delay.

Laser Cataract Surgery

Cataract treatment is only possible through surgery, during which the clouded lens is removed and an intraocular lens is implanted in its place. Modern laser cataract surgery combines ultrasound surgical technique with a precise femtosecond laser procedure to ensure a safe and precise outcome. The cataract surgery cost always includes the intraocular lens, which can also replace your glasses. The first 24 hours after cataract surgery are critical for recovery. That is why our cataract surgery cost always includes a free one-day follow-up, where our specialist checks the position of the implanted intraocular lens and the health status of the eye.

Unlike others, we do not only welcome our patients back in case of complaints, but we also schedule all further examinations recommended by professional guidelines in every case.

We are convinced that planned follow-up care throughout the recovery phase is the true guarantee of safe healing and permanent sharp vision.

Protect the Light of Your Eyes!

In addition to expertise, experience, and instrumentation, patient-centered care characterizes our ophthalmology services. During the pre-operative examination, we discuss your condition, the details of the surgery, and help you select the most ideal intraocular lens for you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Cataract Surgery Cost

The stated surgical fee includes ultrasound or femtosecond laser lens removal, intraocular lens implantation, and the one-day follow-up examination. In addition, physician continuity is guaranteed, meaning that the pre-operative examination, surgical plan, surgery, and all post-operative follow-up examinations are performed by the same physician.

The basic ophthalmological examination and supplementary examinations are not included in the surgery cost, except for the one-day follow-up, which is free. The anesthesiology examination and supervision fee on the day of surgery, as well as the prescription fee related to the surgery, are payable separately; these prices can be found on the Optimum Ophthalmology website. Prescription of medications related to examinations at Logodi Vision Center is free of charge.

Generally, it is advisable to select the best possible intraocular lens first and then add the laser supplementary procedure. You should also consider that you may need a toric lens, which will be determined during lens planning. If necessary and we do not add it, glasses will be needed for all distances, regardless of type.

Cataract removal is performed with an ultrasonic fragmentation-aspiration device in all cases. However, during laser cataract surgery, the critical moments of the operation (opening the lens capsule, fragmenting the lens) are performed not with manual instruments but with a laser in a fraction of the time, automatically, with maximum precision and safety. This procedure significantly reduces the rate of associated complications.

This supplement is needed if the intraocular lens planning calculations show that astigmatism would develop after surgery and you would need cylindrical glasses. The special design of toric (cylindrical) intraocular lenses can correct this refractive error, so you can obtain a sharp or sharper image after surgery compared to if it had not been corrected. This supplementary option is available with any chosen lens type (monofocal, EDOF, multifocal, multifocal PRO).

Not necessarily, but if indicated, it is definitely advisable to choose it, because without it, vision would not be good at any distance with any lens type. The natural lens provides both spherical and cylindrical diopters to the eye, which are also supplemented or reduced by the corneal diopter. Therefore, after the lens is removed, the total refractive power of the eye changes. That is, a toric intraocular lens may or may not be needed, but this can only be determined precisely based on detailed measurements of the eye during what is called lens planning.
